Your username is your unique identifier for your Robinhood account.

Where to find it?

You can find your username on your profile in the app or on the web within your Robinhood Account (person icon).

Can I log in with it?

No, you must use your email address to log in.

How to create or change it

Go to Account (person icon) → Edit Profile, where you can then create or change your username.

How to choose a username

Choose a username that’s unique to you. Make sure to follow our App Use Standards and never include sensitive personal information in your username, such as your social security number, primary Robinhood email address, or bank account number. Keeping sensitive personal information out of your username helps us protect you and your Robinhood account from bad actors.

Why is my username being rejected?

Your username must be between 3 and 20 characters long, and can only include letters, numbers, and underscores.

Note that inappropriate or profane terms aren’t permitted. You also can’t use a username to pretend to be associated with Robinhood or another company. In rare cases, our system may block full or partial names.

Check out our App Use Standards for more details. If you experience issues when creating a username that follows our guidelines, try again with different characters or abbreviations.
